Summer BPD Update 7/23/2017

Hello Parents and Students,

Please find below important information for the upcoming weeks:

BPD 2nd Annual Summer Social
This Friday at 6pm is our 2nd Annual Summer Social. The McWhorter's have graciously offered to host this year. Please bring your family, your potluck item and your bathing suits. We are so excited to get to connect and a great time before the Marching Season begins! The Sign Up Genius link is below.  See you all Friday Night.

Car wash Fundraiser
Next Saturday, July 28th we will have our 2nd car wash of the summer.  Please remember that the carwash fundraisers are being allocated to student fees.  If you would like an opportunity to reduce your student's fees for this year, this is a great way to put a small dent in them.   We would like all students to participate in all the carwashes if possible.  We raise more funds the more kids working it. 

How It Will Work:

Students will sign in upon arrival and out when they leave.  This way if a student can only participate for part of a car wash, they will still earn some funds for their account.   The funds will be broken into an hourly rate and applied to each students' account.
  
There will be 4 throughout the season, so this will give all students the opportunity to help their own accounts.

BPD Band Camp Dinner Fundraiser
The BPD hosts a band camp dinner as a fundraiser for us.  This year we will be hosting a hamburger meal.  This event is very profitable for us for a short amount of time and not a ton of work.  Please sign up to help with supplies and serving if you are able!  

Snap-Raise Fundraiser
One of our most successful fundraisers last year was our Snap-Raise fundraiser.  It was not only very profitable for us, but required very little work on our part.  All we have to do is send our kids with a minimum of 20 emails to the Kick-Off Event.  Then they take the work from there.  They will create a short video of our kids and the website link.  They will also send out the reminders weekly for the 4 week campaign.  Yes, they do take a percentage, but so do most fundraising opportunities.  The key is PARTICIPATION.  The higher percentage of our kids that participate, the higher percentage we get to keep.  Last year, we had 100% participation.  WE ARE SHOOTING FOR 100% AGAIN!

Our SnapRaise meeting with the kids will be Monday, August 7th at 5pm.

Drumline Parent Meeting
Thursday, August 10th at 6:30pm


I know this is a lot of information.  I will be attempting to send out weekly/bi-weekly updates throughout the season to keep everyone as informed as I can.  

If you are interested in getting plugged in on a regular basis with the group, please let Dave or I know.  We are always looking for people who can use their gifts to help make this organization successful.
